Continue the fight for international and part-time domestic students concession Opal Cards to ensure all students can access our transports systems while fighting cost of living pressures.
Push for more affordable housing and bed guarantees
An affordable bed guarantee
We want to work so one day the university can guarantee every first-year student a bed. This starts with clear rent limits and providing for regional and rural students first.
International House
Push for the reopening of International House. Ensure the University to publish its redevelopment progress and scoping, and push for timelines to be published. Include students and alumni in the redesign.
Help when renting goes wrong
Strengthen independent tenancy advice, bond assistance and emergency housing. Hold University accommodation partners to clear price and quality standards.
Ensure student consultation at every step of University decisions that impact you
Greater say in SSAF distribution
Ensure greater say in where SSAF funding goes with greater year-round consultation, rather than one-off surveying.
Student consultation in building and spac development
Involve elected students during major decisions, to ensure spaces are made for students, with student guidance. Ensure this consultation is published and open to scrutiny.
Scrutinise the OpenAI deal
Students should have been consulted before the OpenAI deal. Fight for funding and agreement details to be released. Ensure students will always have a decision in their education, protect student privacy, maintain strict AI guidelines and retain non-AI alternatives.
Greater support for our clubs & societies
Free standard room hire
Negotiate free standard rooms for recognised clubs and cheaper specialist venues. Publish security and cleaning charges before organisers book.
Reduce the Campus Access Policy
Allow for greater booking of spaces by students. We know the CAP isn't working, so we will fight to ensure students have a right of free speech and use of their own university.
Club support beyond Welcome Week
Greater access to necessary resources like templates, shared hirable resources, funding for regular club pop-ups and accessible events.
Ensure fairer assessment and better processes
Fairer simple extensions & special cons
Continue the fight to protect five-day simple extensions. Work to improve the special consideration system so it is faster and fairer on students. Stop unnecessary repeat medical evidence for ongoing conditions.
Defend STUVAC and study breaks
Defend study breaks and STUVAC for the intensive periods, publish exam arrangements earlier so students have time to prepare for unexpected circumstances.
More reliable exams
Push for earlier release of the exam calendar, more flexibility offered to students, and no-exams surrounding public holidays. Ensure students never have to attend an exam sick due to concerns of their spec-cons not being approved.
Greater campus safety and inclusive spaces
Spaces students need
Fund further development of more quiet, sensory, faith and autonomous spaces. Key to this is ensuring student voice on building and redevelopment. We want to fight to ensure students feel like they belong at this university, and that it is a safe space for all.
Help after racism or harassment
Greater funding and support with the Student Appeals System. Guarantee all reports are anonymous. Push the university to publish annual reports on anti-racism and sexual violence responses, and make counselling free. Direct support for individual survivors of assult. Force the university to set public active targets towards the reduction of sexual assualt and racism on campus.
Support off campus
Offer more out-of-hours and online appointments, including for students on placement. Seek care-cost assistance for parents and carers during exams and placements through carers-grants, as already exists at ANU.

More paid jobs on campus
Advertise more paid student roles across University teams, with hours that fit around study. Connect students with alumni mentoring and paid projects.
Help with placement costs
Push for upfront travel, accommodation and equipment grants, including support for students left out of government payments.
Postgraduate support
Work with Weihong to address gaps in research leave and scholarship support. Restore public research profiles where unavailable and support careers beyond academia.

Greater risk management and transparency plans
Push for public reporting by the university on key-decision making, and on governance fight for further risk assessement forms.
More funding for student services
Work with the USU on external catering, events and alumni support. Reinvest returns in students and protect access to campus spaces.
Student representative engagement
Push on social media what goes on behind the scenes in Senate, and always have open hours to meet with students and staff.
